Groups for Children

Nursery:

The nursery is available for children under the age of 3 from 9:00 - 11:15. It is located on the first floor near the reception desk. Please ask an usher or greeter to assist you in finding it.

Children & Youth Sunday School:  Sunday School takes place from 9:15am until 10am.  During that time, the children and youth are taught God’s Word and how it can be relevant in their daily life.  All of our dedicated teachers are volunteers and we are always happy to add to the ranks!

Confirmation and 6th - 12th grade: Rachel Shelton

Youth Confirmation:  St. John’s has made a strong commitment to our young people as they prepare to make an adult Statement of Faith by, through, and in the Sacramental Rite of Confirmation.  St. John's offers a Confirmation Class for youth in the 8th-10th grade during the Sunday school hour.  The class is taught in two ten-week sessions. Youth are given the opportunity to be confirmed should they choose to do so.  Parishioners may serve as a mentor, teacher or class coordinator. The confirmation experience and curriculum have been written by STJE staff members and the class is primarily led by staff or other church leaders. Students and/or parents interested in Youth Confirmation Class need to sign up for the class.

St. Nicholas Training Choir

For boys and girls in pre-K4 through second grade, the St. Nicholas Training Choir meets each Wednesday of the school year in the choir room from 4:30-5:00 p.m.  Introductory musical activities, such as pitch-matching and rhythm games, prepare youngsters for future musical experiences. This choir sings an anthem as the prelude to the 10:15 a.m. service about once a month. Mrs. Tracy Reed directs this choir. Please contact her for more information.

Vacation Bible School

VBS is for children 4 years old through rising 6th grade.  7th graders and older are Youth Helpers and college students through all ages are invited as teachers.  During the week we make great crafts, play fun games, sing songs, eat wonderful food and most importantly hear stories that teach us about Jesus’ Abundant Love for each of us.  This is a fantastic way to meet other parishioners and everyone is encouraged to participate!
